About Community First Step (CFS)

Community First Step (CFS) is a not-for-profit, community-based organisation in Sydney's Southwest. The organisation was founded over 50 years ago by a group of residents who originally formed the Fairfield Community Council for Social Development - a forum for community development and action on social issues.

CFS currently employs over 90 staff from over 17 cultural backgrounds across Community, Children and Disability services.

 

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Children’s Services (HChS), the Childhood Educator is responsible for facilitating the effective and efficient operations of CFS’ children’s services and for ensuring that CFS centres are child-friendly, safe, healthy and stimulating learning environments where children’s autonomy, initiative, self-worth, and dignity are upheld and valued.

They will participate in the planning and implementation of programs that meet the developmental, cultural, and individual needs of children.

 

Key Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in Childhood Education or related fields.

  • Minimum of three years' experience in the Children's Services sector.

  • Current driver’s license and the ability to drive 12-seater vehicles for student transportation (essential).

  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificates.

  • Valid Working with Children Check.

  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Workers Screening Check.

 

These are casual positions under the Children's Services Award 2010, plus super. As a not-for-profit, CFS also offers attractive salary packaging.
