With a history that spans over 40 years, we aim at supporting and empowering the communities of South West Sydney to overcome disadvantage and barriers to personal, social and economic growth by delivering inclusive and innovative services. We are a growing community organisation that encompasses children, youth and family services in the form of case work, community development, disability services and children’s services. As a community partner Community First Step work with the community, business and government, to strive for excellence in meeting the holistic needs of our clients through the provision of high quality supportive, recreational, cultural, sporting and welfare programs.

Early Childhood Educators & Child Care Assistants (Casual positions)

We currently have some exciting opportunities for Childcare Educators and Child Care Assistants to join our hardworking and supportive team on a Casual basis, based in Fairfield, NSW. Reporting to the Quality Control Officer – Playgroups, these roles will be responsible for providing a friendly, secure and stimulating learning environment for all children attending our playgroups. This position will also be responsible for providing support to and ensure regular communication with parents of children in care and establish and maintain positive, reciprocal relationships with families as part of their commitment to the children.

Consideration for this role requires:

  • Minimum Cert III in Childcare / OOSH (or currently studying)
  • Previous work experience working with children (0 – 12 years) (desirable)
  • Fluency in Vietnamese and Arabic will be an added advantage

All CFS staff require current First Aid and CPR certification, unrestricted Driver’s License, valid Working with Children’s Check and a National Police Clearance issued within last 12 months. Disability Support Worker (Part-Time/Casual) 

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and caring individuals interested in obtaining casual employment, leading to full and part-time work at our Supported Independent Living program in South West Sydney. Reporting to the Service Coordinator, you will be supporting our clients in reaching their goals.

As a CFS Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible to work as part of a motivated team to deliver needs-based services within a person-centred framework, maximising the capacity of individuals living with a disability.  A focus on community inclusion, independence, decision making and personal choice are promoted to ensure individual client needs are met.

Consideration for this role requires:

  • Relevant qualifications in Disability, Mental Health or Welfare (or currently studying)
  • Previous work experience in Disability Services, Nursing or Aged Care industry (desirable)
  • Fluency in Arabic will be an added advantage
