Community First Step Appoints New CEO, John Gilmore.
Community First Step (CFS), a Fairfield based not-for-profit organisation supporting the local community to overcome social and economic disadvantage, have appointed John Gilmore as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Supporting Working Families
At Community First Step we acknowledge the challenges of many working families in the community. Our out of school hours care (OSHC) programs provide local families with a safe and enjoyable program of care for children. Our accredited curriculum focuses on a national program “My Time, Our Place” and encourages children to take increasing responsibility for their own health and physical wellbeing.
MEET SOK
Sok is a client at our Tangerine Street Day Program as part of our Disability Services Program. He is bright and friendly and wants to be a Support Worker with Community First Step. Over the course of the year he has moved closer and closer to being able to achieve this goal. This is Sok’s story in his own words.
The Phoenix Voices of Youth Choir
The Phoenix Voices of Youth Choir had the pleasure of performing for His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, and his wife Mrs Hurley, on Tuesday 20thNovember 2018 at Fairfield Youth and Community Centre.

2018 AGM
On Monday 19th November, 2019 Community First Step held its annual AGM at St Johns Park Public School.
For the past 12 months Community First Step (CFS) has continued to work towards its mission; “To provide sustainable, evidence-based programs that support the development of engaged, useful and robust citizens. To improve the performance of our community on independently-assessed social and economic measures”.

For over 40 years Community First Step (CFS) has been operating and providing childcare services to families within the Fairfield LGA. Community First Step offers a range of children’s services that may be suitable to you and your family including:

- Roving Children
- Supported Playgroups
Today we operate Allambie Road Before & After School Care and Vacation Care Centre, St Johns Park Public School Before & After School Care and Vacation Care Centre and The Parks Occasional Child Care Centre.
