Lesley joined Community First Step in October 2018 as an Interim CEO. Lesley is a senior executive who has significant experience gained predominantly in the government and not for profit health and aged care sectors. Prior to working with CFS Lesley has worked with a  variety of health and aged care teams to drive strategy, develop capacity and improve system processes.

As a passionate leader Lesley is committed to working strategically to develop capacity and bring out the best in individuals and teams, enabling them to contribute more effectively to achieving organisational goals.

Matthew joined the Board on 26 April 2016 and is also Chief Operating Officer of Healthdirect Australia.  Healthdirect play a leading role in Australia’s healthcare landscape by designing and delivering high-quality telehealth, online and e-health services across the nation.

Matthew has a history including sales, engineering and financial positions, predominantly in the IT sector. His career with CSC included 5 years as Australian CFO and 5 years managing customer relationships and sales, including setting up the local Healthcare practice in 2007.  Matthew spent two years as Regional President, the Asia Pacific at Ventyx, a supplier of enterprise software and services to major infrastructure businesses and developed and executed the company’s expansion in China.

Skills include business management, strategy, leadership and change management, customer relationship management and business development.

Mark joined the Board on 30 May 2016 and is also Chief Executive of the NSW Department of Parliamentary Services, a specialist service department working to support the operation of the NSW Parliament by providing logistical support and advice to Members of Parliament, the Departments of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly and the people of NSW.

Mark’s professional background includes work across the private sector, federal public sector and state public sector, including work in the technology industry, and public policy areas such as employment, the environment and heritage and central government functions.

Skills include policy, government, strategy, change management, business process and improvement and corporate governance.

David joined the Board on 22 March 2016 and is also a principal of Finncorn Consulting, offering strategic and financial advice to large corporate clients.  A graduate of the AICD’s Company Directors Course, the IESE MBA programme in Barcelona and the University of Adelaide, he also serves on the Board of Shaun Parker & Co, an innovative contemporary dance company based in Sydney, and is a past Director of Scallop Credit Union.  Mr. Heard’s career has included project management, financial, marketing and business development roles with Shell, Macquarie Group, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Schroders.

Helen joined the board in October 2017, and is also the Chief Executive Officer for Evergreen Life Care. She brings over 30 years’ experience within the health, aged care and community service sectors, including 20 years located in South West Sydney.

Her experience includes senior executive roles within large, mid-sized and small organisations, across the not-for-profit, private and government sectors. She has also worked as a clinician and as a management consultant, guiding organisations through the challenges of changing policy, social, technological and competitive landscapes.

Skills include business development, service development, strategy, quality, compliance and risk management.

David joined the Board on 20 March 2017. A qualified economist and lawyer, David has experience in the education, government, and not-for-profit environments. He is currently completing his PhD examining business power and economic policy at UNSW Australia. David is also the Founder of Youth Pathways Network, a voluntary organisation helping to fight youth unemployment and crime in Western Sydney.

David’s skills include policy research and analysis, operations management, project management, risk management, strategic planning, community engagement, marketing, and leadership.

Laura joined the Company in August 2018. Laura graduated from Western Sydney University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Arts and commenced working as a lawyer in August 2018. Laura has experience in tort claims, and spent a number of years working as a Paralegal in Parramatta and Liverpool. Laura is presently working in a large Plaintiff-focused personal injury law firm.

Through personal circumstances and her work, Laura has gained experience and is committed to assisting the disabled community in Western Sydney.

Laura’s skills include legal research, advocacy, negotiation, organisation, time management and client service.

Rebecca joined the Company in July 2016. Rebecca is an Australian qualified lawyer with extensive experience in corporate, commercial and resources law.  She has broad experience in global markets, having provided legal and stakeholder engagement support to global corporations in Australia, Africa, South America, and PNG.  She also has experience in the implementation and management of compliance frameworks to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, contractual obligations and ethical standards.

Rebecca has strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to accept challenges, use initiative and complete projects on time to achieve business objectives.

Currently on a leave of absence.
